| So I've wanted to go to Africa for a really long time now. I've just never been able to find a trip over there that I thought was right for me. I think I have finally found a trip that suits me perfectly and there is a very, very strong possibility that I will be going next summer!! I had lunch today with someone from this group that is connected with a community in Kenya. I would go and get work with children and babies and even get to teach. | I love snow!!! Something about having a snowday in college turns you into a little kid. I woke up at 8:30 to the sound of my roommate and Lizzy freaking out because we had a snow day. So I climbed down from my loft, checked icampus and sure enough ISU is closed for the day!!! I'm fully taking advantage of this and turning today into the best snow day ever! So far I've crocheted a little on a cute blanket for a beautiful baby and then... WE WENT SLEDDING!!!!!... it was so much fun... now I'm moving on to hot chocolate and a little Gamecube action... and then we'll see where the day takes me... all know is that it will be magical!!!! | This week has been quite interesting in many respects...
Monday: Semi normal day, woke up, skipped one class because I didn't want to go then went home, had dinner with my dad and got to sleep in my bed with my cat
Tuesday: Job shadowed in a first grade classroom at my old grade school which is now really really nice and bright and lost it's old prison feel, I also finished all that I need to do for APO and will become an active on Saturday
Wednesday: KATE AND SAWYER HAD SEX!!!!!!! I don't know how I feel about that... I really don't... also looked at apartments earlier in the day... I'm excited for the apartment living
Thursday: I got a random $300 check in the mail from school so I went shopping. I finished off my Operation Christmas Child boxes and will have those ready to go out next week. I also decided that I needed a companion at school... SO I bought a red Beta, His name is Boris and I love him very much. He's a very happy fish, he's a take it easy kinda fellow. Elizabeth and I also found a cone and so we brought it back to the dorm with us... named it Coney...
Friday: Went to 2 of 3 classes... watched 16 Candles whilst knitting, took a little nappy and then went to Panera with the roomie and neighbors in the pooring rain... Then we went to the mall because we really didn't have anything else to do and I got an Old Navy credit card... really the last thing on earth that I need... and then we went back to the dorm, dropped Jenna off and went to go park my car... walked across campus in the cold wetness and walked into our building as the fire alarms were going off... so then we had to exit the building because the fire was in our Tower so it was back to the cold... thankfully one of the buildings was still open...
So yeah... that's been a portion of my week... so far a good week but kinda weird and random all at the same time...

| I didn't fall off the face of the earth... I just went to ISU. It's nice here, the locals are friendly and so are the squirells. For one of my classes we had to observe in the grade we want to teach so I observed for 6hrs in a first grade classroom... first graders are fun and it affirms my desire to teach but I'm also wondering what it would be like to teach the older kids... definately not high school though... and all things me you may ask: I've rediscovered the joy that mad libs can bring to ones life... That's the update from Sarah Land... I am not dead yet... I can dance and I can sing... | | |
